Cookbook Club Kits

Every month join us as we explore a different country from around the globe. This season, we will be traveling between Europe and Africa. Learn a little about the culture and cuisine and try out a recipe or two… some months there might even be a surprise. Kits are available up at the circulation desk. Everything inside is yours to keep. Just return the container within 7 days.
May – France
5 Mother Sauces – Flour
France is well-known in culinary circles for its exquisite cuisine, the basis for many of its dishes being the so-called 5 mother sauces that transform into a host of different sauces to try. And best of all, understanding them is fairly simple to accomplish.
June – Greece
Spanakopita – Dill
With so much history and culture, Greece might be a little hard to nail down to a single recipe. But one thing that all regions of this country have a variation of is Spanakopita, a spinach and cheese pastry that has Popeye guarding his stash.
