About the Event
Kits With Recipes Available 1st open day of Month As Long As Supplies Last @ Checkout Pot Lucks will be held 2nd to last Monday of the month @5-6pm in the Adult Programming Room This is your chance to try something new and help build a community. Each month we will provide you with a small sample of a spice and some history & best practices as well as at least one recipe. Then, join us for the potluck later in the month with a theme in some way related to the kit. Don’t have time or don’t feel up to cooking? Come anyway. This is about building a community and sharing a unique experience. Not about the dishes themselves, or at least not completely. Upcoming themes are as follows:
September – Tarragon – We will be making our own salad dressing with Tarragon Vinaigrette. Potluck theme: Salads and their fixings.
October – Pumpkin Pie Spice – October is synonymous with pumpkins and pumpkin spice. What happens when we combine the two? Here’s the recipe to find out! Potluck theme: Bring something that uses Pumpkin Pie Spice.
November – Caraway Seeds– Slow Cooker Root Vegetable Winter Soup will help warm you up on the coldest days. Potluck Theme: Bring something that warms you up inside
*December — Rennet & Citric Acid—Okay, so not your typical month. We’ll actually be using rennet and citric acid to make our own mozzarella cheese. We’ll send you home with the rennet, citric acid and recipe to try on your own, then come to the pot luck where we’ll do a cheese class instead of a traditional meal and share some of our successes and failures. BYO milk (whole works best, but as long as there is some fat content it should work)!
